Just One Day 2013

Just One Day no-kill event becomes a record five no-kill days in Indianapolis

"Just One Day" event huge success

If there was ever a question as to the influence of rescue organizations on the live-release rate of animals from Indianapolis Animal Care and Control, it's been soundly answered!

During the June 7-11th move to ACT "Just One Day" initiative, not one healthy animal was killed for space at Indianapolis Animal Care and Control.  Not one! Sixteen no-kill rescue groups participated, competing for prize money in different categories.  They include:

All About Dogs

Indy Claw

ARPO

SSAS

Lucky Dog Retreat Recue

Prizes for rescuers and a shout-out to sponsors

Southside Animal Shelter was awarded $500 for pulling the most cats from IACC. Indy Claw received $500 for pulling the most exotic animals.

Drawings were held for other cash prizes based on the total number of animals pulled to rescue. Winners were Love of Labs ($500) and IndyFeral ($1,000).

25 animals were adopted from IACC during the "Just One Day" event. Brianna Collins, who adopted a dog named Little Bit, won the drawing for a $100 gift card from Pet Supplies Plus.

This life-saving initiative would not be possible without the support of the "Just One Day" sponsors. A "shout out" to:
